WHY A FOOD HUB?
The Shuswap is home to many food and beverage businesses. However, affordable and accessible processing, production, packing, and research facilities were identified as a critical supply-chain gap.
With substantial community and provincial support, Salmon Arm Economic Development Society (SAEDS) developed the Zest Commercial Food Hub.
Zest aims to cultivate food businesses, connect food resources, and build the community food system.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE
Zest was designed to support start-ups, sustainability, and growth phases of food processing businesses in Salmon Arm, the Shuswap, and beyond. The facility operates as a division of Salmon Arm Economic Development Society, a registered non-profit.
Zest officially opened its doors in November 2021 with support from the Ministry of
Agriculture’s BC Food Hub Network. Zest was among the first food hubs in the BC Food Hub Network to launch. Through ongoing support from community organizations, we've been able to expand our offerings and stay on top of the current food-processing needs of our community.
